Called to be uniquely you
Diversity creates excitement, a certain kind of mystery of the unknown and something to look forward to.
Each of us have something amazing to contribute to this world, whether we are big or small, thin, or not so thin, whether we have a voice, or think we have no voice at all.
We are all like a single flower in a beautiful floral bouquet, serving a purpose in our own unique way.
As we grow up, we stand a chance to lose our confidence, voice, and identity. We are expected to conform to certain standards, do things in certain ways, check certain check boxes and if we don’t, we're labelled as not good enough or different.
Is this not a good thing though, to be different? How utterly boring it would be if there were only one kind of flower and only in one colour?
Diversity creates excitement, a certain kind of mystery of the unknown and something to look forward to.
The movie Encanto was a reminder to me that each one of us has a unique gift inside, waiting to be released. When you allow these gifts to take root and care for it, eventually you will be able to spread seeds of goodness in your life, as well as others'. If you, however, don't recognise how you can contribute to society, the world may miss out on the goodness you have to offer.
It's sometimes really easy to stare at the things of this world like IQ scores, hair colour and weight, but if you look inside yourself, you will be reminded who you truly are and that you can make a difference by just being your authentic self.
I'd love to hear about your uniqueness and how you think you can use it to create a better tomorrow.
